  • Installing Laminate flooring over concrete subfloor?

I am installing laminate flooring in a main level bedroom, which has a concrete subfloor. Denote: Below the bedroom is a finished basement.) Should I lay down a 6 mil vapor barrier anyway, or apply a elastomeric concrete sealant, just to get a agreeable smooth dust free surface first? or just start laying down the laminate (which has the padding attached) on the concrete?

Sounds to me equal your floors are at a perfect starting point so just start laying your floor.
  • I would contact the company that made the laminate. Laminate does not like damp. Since there is a finished basement under the bedroom you might be okay, but I would want to check with the manufacturer. We have had some laminate buck from getting wet. Sake luck.
