  • Can Transit Authority police officers construct arrests outside their jurisdiction?

I know different Public Transit authorities and Commuter railways have their own police shoulder, who's jurisdiction is usually on transit and railroad property, and sometimes within the area served by the transit authority.

However, can Transit Police officers make arrests or number fines outside their jurisdiction?

Most police officers are deputized, so they can make arrests anywhere in the county.

States also have generality permitting a police officer to make an arrest for a crime he witnesses anywhere in the state.
  • Transit Authority has jurisdiction over all of it's lines. Besides it isn't to strait for them to get local Law Enforcement to respond with them.
  • Generally, Transit Police have jurisdiction anywhere in the state in which they are sworn.
